Origin of Episcia Cleopatra

Episcia cupreata is a species of perennial plant in the family Gesneriaceae that is found in Brazil, Colombia, and Venezuela. Episcia Cleopatra is a chimeric sport of Episcia cupreata 'Frosty', cultivated by E. Leo Easterbrook from the USA (Ohio).

Care for Episcia Cleopatra

It is slow-growing due to lack of chlorophyll, requires more care than other Episcia cultivars. Prefers moist but well-drained media (peat moss-perlite soilless mix) and high humidity. Avoid waterlogging which causes root and stem rot. Colors will be more intense when grown under LED grow lights. Place in partially shaded areas.
