Echeveria are native to mid to higher elevations in the Americas with the main distribution in Mexico and central America but with one species found from as far north as southern Texas and several species occurring as far south as Bolivia, Peru and possibly Argentina.
Special care
1) Do not water on top of the rosette or leaves, as this will lead to crown rot if the water is stagnant
2) Avoid misting or spraying as they are sensitive to high humidity
3) Use minimal organics in the soil mix as echeveria are prone to fungal infection and root rot
4) Soil mix needs to be very well draining and porous to ensure enough aeration
5) Echeveria has high light requirement-4/5 hours of direct sunlight or 8-12hours of growlight
6) Echeveria is prone to etiolation if there is insufficient light
7) Echeveria can be propagated by leaf, stem cuttings or seeds. It is hard to germinate seeds in room temperature, optimal temperature is 21°C
