Mermaid Tail

Mermaid tail succulent is a crested Senecio vitalis. The Crested Senecio Vitalis is native to the cape of South Africa. That means it grows in the winter and is dormant in the summer.

Why are succulents crested?

This happens when the original plant sustains some damage to the normal, single growing point and causes it to make multiple growing points. These all push against each other and cause the wavy, fan shape.
