Gymnocalycium mihanovichii is a species of cactus from South America. The most popular cultivars are varied mutants that completely lack chlorophyll, exposing the red, orange, or yellow pigmentation.
Caring for gymnocalycium
1) Full sun exposure for frequent flowering
2) Fertilise every week with high Phosphorus and Potassium content for prolific blooming
3) Gymnocalycium are propagated by pups, seeds or grafting
4) Water once the top inch of the soil turns dry
5) Repot every 6 months to encourage root growth
